"The fried chicken rice is amazing here!! Whats surprising is even though its fried it not oily. Its crispy and tender. The bonus is the soup i would say. It’s very hard to get a soup nowadays and the chicken soup here totally blew away its like having from home. Its soo gooodd. The portion is also good. Would definitely come here again and recommend to others"

"Located inside a mall. It is at the ground floor at the rear of the mall. There is a lot of parking in front of the shop. Depending on your timing you might need to wait in qué. The signature dish is fried whole chicken leg. This is being fried continuously to ensure every piece is hot and crispy. The sticky char siew is also equally good. This runs out very fast. The siew yoke is just ok but also runs out fast. Although the shop is fully air cond, there are also tables on the walkway when the air cond area is packed. Ordering and food came fast. Not sure whether this is the same operator before this mall was built. It was operating under a wooden shop with zinc roof at the same spot before it was demolished to build this mall. The old name is restaurant Soon Seng."

"Wow I really forgot about this place, visited here some years back....at that time the food didn't leave any good impression. Today....I would definitely give the outlet a . For what we ordered... The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, the roast pork was good, not too much fat for our liking. The soup was hot and flavourful. We also packed for dinner....will update later Just finished our dinner char siew 3.5 Brought our daughter for lunch. She loves the fried chicken. We had steam chicken and siew yoke. The steam chicken was smooth and siew yoke just to our liking little bit of fat and crispy....One thing the owner must look into...flies..in the aircond shop"

"Saw that this place is quite well-known but never had the chance to try it even though it’s so close to my house! I’m not usually a big fan of steamed chicken, but this one turned out surprisingly good. The meat was really smooth and tender. Their must-try fried chicken was tasty as well! However, the rice, braised tofu and egg were a bit underwhelming, not as flavourful as expected."

"Gombak.. except for the fact that I always passed this area during my trip to KL in the 80s and 90s, oh yes also Mimaland, nothing much I remember about it. Back in those days, there wasn't any highway - DUKE, MRR2, etc - and the cars or busses going to city center from the East Coast definitely had to use Jalan Gombak. Boy it has changed so much during my recent food excursion to this area. They'd just finished class and it was nearer to drive here than from PJ. This residential-cum-commercial area was huge and parking wasn't easy to come by. Much has been heard about this restaurant specialising in fried chicken, which is different from roasted or even poached chicken places. Restaurant setting was quite basic and you order from the counter outside before taking your seat and they'll send to you later. Ordered 4 portions of fried whole chicken leg + 1 potion of siew yuk + 2 plates of rice to be shared among the kids as the adults cut down on carbs. ◾Fried chicken - I would say that this was probably one of the best version (if not the best!) I'd ever tasted. The chicken skin was very fragrant and crispy, and it's meat was moist, juicy and fall-of-the-bone effortlessly. Not expecting the kids to fight the meat with us, I ended up ordering the 5th portion. It's that good. ◾siew yuk - only left more fatty parts. The skin was crunchy but a little bit hard. Ok for me but I had better elsewhere ◾Chicken rice - the aroma was evident and they even added an extra bowl. ◾complimentary boiled soup They gave us char siew sauce which, according to the young ones, very good that they mixed with the rice and polished everything off. Do take note that char siew had finished by that point so no comment on the meat.. sauce was good though. Verdict - the pickiest eater of all declared that this was the best chicken rice ever and the rest agreed! Oh well.. can't argue with them. But honestly, the fried chicken alone is damn good... I can easily eat 2-3 whole legs myself. Total bill? Less than RM50!!! But parking here is a nightmare.. so come at your own risk"
